The right charging technology for every application

Choosing the right charging technology depends largely on the required charging capacity, dwell time, and available grid capacity on site. AC charging points are ideal for longer dwell times, while DC fast-charging solutions enable significantly shorter charging times.

Battery storage systems can also help balance grid constraints, reduce peak loads, and enable high-performance charging infrastructure without the need for costly grid expansion.

FAQ: Charging infrastructure for businesses

What you should know about implementing charging solutions

What is the difference between AC and DC charging solutions for businesses?

The main difference lies in the charging capacity and the associated dwell times:

The stationary battery storage system acts as an energy buffer:

Using an intelligent energy management system, the charging infrastructure is directly connected to the PV system or solar carport. This ensures that self-generated solar power is prioritized for charging electric vehicles. This not only reduces the fleet’s ongoing energy costs but also improves its carbon footprint. Where required, additional battery storage systems can ensure that solar energy remains available for use at a later time.

In addition to the applicable VDE standards, underground parking garages and commercial properties must primarily comply with regional fire safety regulations. Safe cable management, structured access control (e.g. via RFID or app), and intelligent load management are also essential to prevent overloading the building’s grid connection when multiple vehicles are charging simultaneously.
